The Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment of Australia released《National Plastics Plan 2021》, which outlines how the Australian government increase the recycling of plastics, as well as the use of other types of materials, such as paper packaging, to replace the traditional plastics and reduce the plastic pollution.

According to the plan, the Australian government has put forward annual tasks, to complete the goal that they will phase out the traditional plastic gradually in some key industries, such as packaging and catering, and will try to replace plastics with recyclable or compostable materials, such as Paper, sugarcane fiber. The Paper Packaging (paper food containers, takeaway paper boxes, paper food boxes) will be a good option in packaging and catering then.
